The Cleveland 2075N Q-Cobalt wide land parabolic flute design, jobber length, high-speed steel (HSS) containing cobalt drill bit has a 38-degree helix angle, with a 135-degree notched-point drill point and Titanium nitride (TiN) surface treatment, which is designed for high-performance drilling applications. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. The 2075N series performs best when drilling into stainless steel, tool steel, low/med/high carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, plastic, and nickel alloys. TiN is a ceramic coating that combines hardness and low friction to extend cutting tool life and permits faster cutting speeds than with uncoated tools. Spiral flutes act as a passageway for chip extraction from the hole and for coolant to enter the hole. The twist of the flutes brings chips up and away from the cutting edge.
